Where does the inspiration come from when you design your bags and accessories?

Much inspiration comes from my mother, Monica Ekman, and her handbags from her time as an Eileen Ford model at Ford Models during the 60’s. One of Bolinder Sthlm’s most significant patterns – The Manhattan Square – is named after the street grid of Manhattan.

Who are your biggest style icons?

My mother, first and foremost. But other icons could be Jane Fonda, Lauren Hutton and Faye Dunaway (the latter seen in The Thomas Crown Affair, 1968) are all great inspirations.

How would you describe your personal style? Is there a garment you can’t live without?

I always wear a skirt or a dress – my motto is to elevate everyday elegance. I have a fondness for leather so there are several leather shirts and dresses in my wardrobe.

We assume that there are couple of impressive bags in your wardrobe – is the handbag the perfect accessory?

It is definitely the perfect accessory!
